A GROUP of artists in Dorset decided to help children in the area of a nuclear disaster in Japan.
Oceans Apart: Artists for Japan is an arts and crafts exhibition and sale taking place in Bridport on Saturday, August 18.
It is for the children of Fukushima. Pottery, jewellery, feltwork, and handmade booklets will be among the artwork for sale. There will also be storytellers, musicians, cakes, coffee and sushi.
There will also be an exhibition of artwork by the children of Fukushima combined with portraits of them by British artist Geoff Read, and artwork by British children. The event is from 10am to 4pm at the Quaker Meeting House, South Street.
