THE British Red Cross has been counting the generosity of the people of Bridport who donated £1,200 for its annual fundraising drive.
Red Cross volunteers and supporters collected at various locations including the Co-op, Morrisons, Groves Garden Centre and the town centre.
Beth Collins, community fundraiser at the British Red Cross, said: “We are so grateful to the people of Bridport who generously supported our fundraising.
“It really is a fantastic amount to have raised. We are also hugely grateful to our fantastic volunteers who gave up their time to collect. Without them this just wouldn’t have been possible.”
Across Dorset nearly £16,000 has been raised for the appeal week and the money will be used to support vital work in the UK and overseas, providing unconditional care for vulnerable people in crisis.
