Sandsfoot Gardens has been awarded a Green Flag Award for its high-quality open space.
This national award follows the opening of Sandsfoot Castle in April this year.
David Carter of the Friends of Sandsfoot Gardens and Rodwell Trail said following the opening of Sandsfoot Castle, the Green Flag award is the icing on the cake.
Coun Andy Blackwood, the Culture, Tourism and Community Facilities spokesman, said: “It is a credit to both the council’s parks team and the friends groups that our gardens are being maintained to such a high standard.”
Sandsfoot Gardens hosts a number of free events, including the butterfly identification day taking place on Sunday, July 29 at 1pm. This event will follow the Rodwell Trail with butterfly conservation experts.
