Despite all the worries and concerns voiced by many people during the last couple of years as W&PBC released their plans to ensure Weymouth would be presented to the world in a way befitting of a host Olympic town, we now see a town in full readiness to welcome everyone.
The town looks vibrant.
There is a buzz of excitement.
Everywhere you look people are engaging in trying to produce that festive spirit.
Nothing more can be done, only to sit back and enjoy the spectacle.
If we lived in a perfect world, things would run smoothly, but sadly, we don’t live in a perfect world. Things are bound to go wrong – traffic lights will fail, trains will be overcrowded, congestion in the streets is bound to happen, buses will be full.
We should expect hiccups.
I am not the slightest bit interested in sailing, nor will I make a concerted effort to view any of the events, however, I do aim to embrace everything that someone somewhere has spent a great deal of time and effort in planning, for our/my enjoyment.
