A WOMAN’S body has been recovered from a car caught in a landslide near Beaminster Tunnel.
Dorset Police confirmed today that the bodies of a man and a woman, believed to be Rosemary Snell, have been recovered from the vehicle, that was taken to Weymouth Police station where it was being forensically examined.
The man’s body was found at the scene yesterday.
A spokesman said: “No further details of their identity will be released until the identification process is complete in conjunction with HM Coroner.”
Officers are appealing for anyone who may have seen the victim’s silver Skoda car being driven on the A3066 from Beaminster to the tunnel between 9.30pm and 10.30pm on Saturday, July 7.
This was a day of very heavy rainfall and flooding throughout Dorset.
