A HORSE named Earl was the reason behind one happy couple meeting, falling in love and marrying.
Equine dentist Andy Cross, 51, and horse enthusiast Leanne Tite, 34, met in 2008 when Mr Cross came to the yard to check out Earl’s teeth, true love blossomed for the pair and when they got married at the Rembrandt Hotel in Weymouth on June 29 they had a big picture of Earl at the reception.
Sadly Earl passed away but Mr Cross wrote a lovely poem about him for Miss Tite that she put up in the yard.
Mr Cross proposed a few years ago with a poem and a card while the couple were out to dinner with friends.
Miss Tite said: “He’s a massive old-fashioned romantic.”
The couple said they had a fantastic day and thanked all the staff at the Rembrandt for making it so special.
The bride said: “The staff made it all go smoothly, they were all absolutely fantastic – we couldn’t have wished for a better venue, we were really pleased.
“It was the perfect day.”
The bride’s father Roy Tite gave her away and her son Joel Tite, 14, walked behind them with the rings.
The bride’s brother Jon Tite was a witness along with the groom’s son Josh Cross. Guests Phil Walker and Jamie Lovett did an acoustic version of Beyonce’s song Halo for the couple’s first dance.
The bride said: “It was brilliant.”
The couple are hoping to go away on honeymoon later on in the year.
