THIS weekend’s Wykefest has been cancelled.
A spokesman for Value House where the annual event was due to be held said that the weather meant they had no choice but to cancel.
A spokesman said: “The field is still very wet from all the current rain and most of the forecasts we are looking at say that it is going to continue raining into the week with heavy rain forecast for Friday.
“The whole purpose of the event is to raise funds for Julia’s House and we do have a considerable outlay with the marquee, beer, bands etc so have had to take a hard decision and cancel it before we incur some of these heavy costs.
“We are all really sorry – we are obviously all very disappointed but a decision had to be made today before we outlay more costs.
“We are all extremely disappointed that we have had to make the decision to cancel but this inclement weather has left us with little choice
