THERE are more than 600 pictures of the Olympic Torch Relay to see on the Dorset Echo website.
The relay was declared a huge success as it wound its way through the county over the past few days.
It began its journey in Shaftesbury on Thursday morning and travelled through Milborne St Andrew, Puddletown, Kingston Maurward to Dorchester.
It then headed down the west of the county taking in Winterbourne Abbas, Bridport, Chideock and Lyme Regis before heading back through Burton Bradstock, Abbotsbury, Portesham, Chickerell and Wyke Regis before arriving at the sailing academy on Portland.
It was then transported by boat across the bay to Weymouth beach where the cauldron was lit by Di Ludlow as the waiting crowds enjoyed a concert by rapper Wretch 32 and dance duo Twist and Pulse.
On Friday morning the torch left Portland Bill early in the morning before moving through Weymouth, carried by a series of inspirational torchbearers. It was greeted by huge crowds in Preston before moving on to Osmington, Winfrith, Wool and on to the towns and villages of Purbeck before arriving in Bournemouth on Friday night.
