West Dorset District Council has revealed it has received a number of offers for its existing offices as it prepares to relocate.

The authority announced in May that it was putting its offices at Stratton House on the market ahead of its move to new offices in Charles Street, which it expects to complete by the end of the year.

Property advisor GVA was appointed to oversee the sale of the premises at Stratton House, as well as Glyde Path House, The Old School House, 17 and 17a Colliton Street and a row of former cottages.

Following the deadline for offers last Friday the council has claimed it has received ‘several bids’ for the site and was now considering those.

Leader of West Dorset District Council, Robert Gould said: “The district council recently conducted an initial tender exercise for the disposal of the Stratton House campus.

“We received several bids. Officers are now considering the bids and potential next steps. In due course they will draft a report on the matter for councillors to consider.”
