On behalf of the members of Weymouth Division of St. John Ambulance, I would like say a big thank you to the local musicians and the public for the very generous collection made on our Flag Day on Saturday 9th June. We raised £710.39.
The musicians who helped us were: - The band Replay, Norman Stagles (guitar and vocals), Alan Smith (guitar and vocals), Roger McGhee (bass guitar and vocals), Nigel Coles (drums and vocals) with extra vocals and tambourine from Ann Stagles.
We couldn’t have raised so much without their help. Also a big thank you to Phones4U for providing the power on the day.
I would also like to thank the members of our division who helped with the collecting.
As a volunteer organisation we rely on public donation to maintain and upgrade our equipment, and to ensure our training is up to date, enabling us to continue with our public first aid duties in and around the town.
These funds also help us to train our cadets (10-18yr olds) and our Badgers (6-10 yr olds) who are all keen to learn first aid.
Ann Stagles, Divisional Treasurer, Weymouth Quadrilateral Division
