‘Your Dorset’ has arrived from the County Council, 20 pages, all about the Olympics, in full colour. Great! I’m all for the Olympics, but why all those pages and all that colour when an unnecessary new library has been tacked on to the titanic new building in Dorchester’s Charles Street and existing heritage sites are being neglected?
For instance, the Roman Town House, object of great hype a few years ago, is now growing green mould, the paintwork is cracking and the slot-machine for a guide has been out-of-action for months.
Someone from County Hall should walk around the town. Life will go on after the Olympics and we need to put on the best show possible for visitors.
