I have been visiting Weymouth with members of my family on and off for close on 60 years. Early days with my mother, aunts and cousins, then with my wife and family and now with our grandchildren. The town has always been great to visit and has been enjoyed by all of us over the years so please don’t spoil it too much.
Last year it was awful, with the road works and alterations taking place. The new traffic lights, new road layouts and no left turns etc proved to be complicated to locals and visitors alike.
How disappointing to see Brewers Quay closed down without a care for the traders left behind who were struggling to survive.
The council should remember that some have been trading for a very long time and they wish to continue to do so during and long after the Olympics.
I will be visiting again this year and hope things have improved.
