The recent floods in our area have brought home to many of us what it must be like to lose everything in a disaster, but when it happens in a part of the world where there are no helicopters or even paved roads, to those who do lose everything, it must be utterly devastating.
This is why we at Melcombe Regis Rotary Club want to thank the people of Weymouth for their extraordinary generosity during our recent collection for Shelterbox in the foyer of local superstore, Asda where over the two days, we raised £388.
We also wish to thank the management and staff at Asda in Weymouth who allowed us the use of their foyer for our display and collection.
Shelterbox is a charity started by Rotary which is committed to providing shelter, warmth and dignity to those who have lot everything in a natural or man made disaster. Thanks to the generosity of people like you, Shelterbox has helped more than one million people over the last 11 years and, with your continued assistance, will go on helping those who have lost everything.
