If the Olympic flame has lit a burning desire to get fit and sporty, Bridport’s Leisure Centre is offering the chance to try a host of activities for free.
On Saturday the centre’s doors will be open to allow people to try out new sports and a number of other clubs such as the local Gig Rowing Club, Bowls Club and Tennis Club have been invited to the Brewery Fields site to display and talk about their activities.
There will be expert tuition on-site for all those who want to get involved or learn more about a particular activity.
Throughout the day, a programme of sports will be provided where adults and children can come along and have a go.
The day finishes with an inflatable challenge from Bridport Round Table who have agreed to manage a series of Total Wipeout-type games using sumo wrestling suits, jousting poles, bungee runs and so on.
For youngstsers, the Fun Castle will be provided as well as the brand new, and popular, Twin Trak Pool inflatable.
On Sunday the Great Bridport Fun Run completes the celebration of the Olympics at the leisure centre. The 3.6km course takes in woodland, cliff tops and sea views.
