Could Dorset County Council explain the traffic chaos this weekend in Weymouth?
Granted the rain was dreadful on Saturday and the flooding on Sunday was very bad but why, with millions of pounds spent on intelligent traffic systems, was Weymouth brought to a standstill on Sunday?
The new electric information signs around the town could have been used to warn drivers of closed roads and flooded car parks and how to find the park and ride car park.
All the sea food festival signs said: ‘park in the central car parks’ which were closed.
I suspect that the answer will be the system is not up and running yet or there was nobody at home at County Hall over the weekend.
The Olympics starts in two weeks.
I can’t help but ask: Will we get it right?
