JUBILEE Weekend is sooo busy! Saturday, 2nd June 3-6 pm, The Elm Tree are holding a Garden Party – Pimms, cream teas, garden games and live music.
THE BENEFICE are having a Communal Jubilee Picnic at St Catherine’s Chapel at 4.30 pm, bring your own food & drink – followed by a service at 5.30 pm at which the Bishop of Sherborne will give the address. After the service 54 balloons will be released as a prayer for the 54 countries of the Queen’s Commonwealth.
SUNDAY we gather our breath and on Monday, 4th June at 10.25pm we have our own BEACON! Robert (our resident blacksmith!) has made a fantastic beacon for the Village’s Jubilee celebrations and by kind permission of Higher Farm, we will be lighting it at the top of Herbury Hill at 10.25 pm.
Tuesday 12th June at 7.30 pm (please note date change) Village Club is having a presentation by Robin Miller (an ‘old boy’ of the Village!) on VOLCANOES - it sounds exciting, do come & join us – visitors £2.00 refreshments available.
HILARY & Tim Warren report that there is good news as their daughter, Sarah de Warren, got thro’ to 2012 Live & Unsigned finals @ The O2 Arena on 14th July – Her song ‘Tear It Up’ won a gold disc award for the best original song.
