A SECOND open gardens event is to be held to raise funds for the Portland branch of the St John Ambulance.
Mews Cottage in Easton Street on the isle is set to be opened from 11am to 3pm on Saturday, June 2.
There will be a range of flowers and plants on display in the garden, which belongs to long time St John Ambulance supporters Peter and Jill Pitman.
The event follows a charity opening of South Dorset MP Richard Drax’s Charborough Estate on Monday, May 7, when £1,300 was raised for the St John Ambulance in Portland.
Superintendent for the branch Terry Shakespeare said: “We are grateful to Mr and Mrs Drax and Mr and Mrs Pitman for their generosity.”
