I MUST reply to W Conroy who was disappointed about the turnout for the recent local elections ‘Don’t whine if you didn’t vote’, (Have Your Say, May 9).
How can things change when in a lot of cases we do not know what the candidates stand for.
This year they were conspicuous by their absence not one candidate called in person, just two small leaflets pushed through the door.
It seems people vote willy-nilly and decisions are then made that do not very often reflect the electorate’s wishes.
To be fair the Wyke Regis Labour candidate is always there to listen to any concerns but I think she is in the minority.
