CHESS players in Dorset have an opportunity to pit their skills against a Grandmaster.
Twenty competent players will simultaneously challenge expert Ray Keene at the Mind Your Head Showcase held at Kingston Maurward College, near Dorchester, on Sunday, August 12.
It is being organised for the Mind Your Head Challenge for people over 50 and is part of the Phoenix Legacy.
Four of the places have been allocated to the winning team of a chess competition after the Mind Your Head Challenge launch last August.
Secretary of the Dorset Chess Association Malcolm Steevens said: “We are looking for mainly people over 50, but not exclusively.
“It is a unique prospect to play against a Grandmaster of this calibre.”
If you would like to play chess against Ray Keene contact Malcolm Steevens on 01305 781225 or email malcatmerit@aol.com Anyone interested in chess generally is welcome to be a spectator and sample the taster sessions being run.
