THE DORSET author of a popular mystery series dropped into Dorchester to help launch his latest book.
Jason Goodwin was at Waterstone’s to sign copies of An Evil Eye, the fourth offering in the Yashim historical mystery series that has been translated into 40 different languages.
Jason, who lives in the Bride Valley, said he enjoyed meeting readers and chatting about his work.
He said: “It went well and there was a good crowd.”
Jason, 47, said it was nice to be able to attend an event so close to his home when compared with some of the literary dates.
He said: “This month I am going off to Estonia to go and do a literary festival there, which is fun, but certainly it is a lot easier to drive 20 minutes up the road to Dorchester.”
Jason, who started writing travel books in the 1980s before penning histories, moved on to novel writing six years ago and has experienced success ever since.
