YOUNG people are being invited to help a new charity by using their creative skills.

SafeWise, based at Weymouth Community Safety Centre, is offering local people between the ages of 13 and 25 the chance to design a logo, a graffiti wall and promotional video clips for YouTube.

The charity will provide fire, health and road safety education to the community from the safety centre, attached to Weymouth Fire Station on Radipole Lane.

People aged between 13-21 years have the chance to design the logo for the charity, while 16-25 year olds are being asked to come up with a graffiti wall and promotional video clips for the SafeWise YouTube channel.

SafeWise Trustee and Head of Prevention for Dorset Fire and Rescue Service Linzi Holt said: “The new SafeWise charity will have a big focus on young people in Dorset, and we want them to be involved right from the start.

“The charity will offer an interactive education experience on FireWise, RoadWise, HealthWise and many other areas. Getting the brand right to start with is really important to us.”

The winners will also get a VIP tour with Dorset Fire and Rescue Service.

The closing date for entries for the logo competition is this Friday. The graffiti wall and promotional video clip competition is ongoing with an initial closing date of Friday, May 25.
