I read with interest the letter from A White regarding dog fouling and inconsiderate cyclists along the Rodwell Trail (Have Your Say, May 5). As a regular visitor to Wey-mouth, I have to agree with the comments about dog poo.

As a dog owner I would like to say only a small minority are responsible for this, but unfortunately I cannot. I also agree with his comments about some cyclists – who hasn’t witnessed the kamikaze cyclist leaving a trail of confused and bruised pedestrians in his wake? However, let’s not forget the walkers who wander all over the path, dog on one side, children on the other and seem either oblivious or too bloody-minded to move out of the way when a cyclist approaches.

Or how about the ones who berate the cyclist for not ringing his bell as a warning, or the ones who berate him if he does ring his bell?

I did think that everybody would be happy if we all treated others with a bit of courtesy and a ‘do as you would be done by’ attitude, but of course I dismissed it for the ridiculous and unworkable idea that it is.
