SKELETONS of young Vikings discovered on the Ridgeway above Weymouth have inspired a musical performance.
Two hundred Dorset schoolchildren are teaming up with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (BSO) to present The Chalk Legend performances at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy.
The three promenade performances of the trailblazing Cultural Olympic event will take place in the former aircraft hangar at the Olympic and Paralympic Sailing venue on Friday, May 18 at 8pm and Saturday, May 19 at 5pm and 8pm.
The performance piece by Stephen McNeff and Richard William was inspired by the discovery during the construction of the Weymouth Relief Road in 2009.
Performers will be asking how the young Vikings came to be cruelly executed.
Tickets cost £9, with concessions available, and can be purchased from the BSO Box Office on 01202 669925.
