TUESDAY, MAY 1st at 7.30 pm there is to be a presentation in the Village Hall by an excellent speaker, Chris Shaw on “Bear Necessities – the Arctic”. She told me it was a fantastic experience and she is looking forward to sharing it with us! Everyone welcome – visitors £2.00, coffee/tea available.
SATURDAY, MAY 5th from 10 till 12 noon, there is The Chesil Bank Garden Club’s Annual Plant Sale held in Portesham Village Hall – come and get your garden restocked! and what you can’t find there maybe you will get on Wednesday, May 9th at the RNLI Annual Plant Sale at Friar Waddon, in Di Ludlow’s lovely garden.
THE ELM TREE are holding a Wine and Beer Festival (local Dorset ones, I believe!) over the Bank Holiday w/e of May 4th to 7th, more details later or from the pub.
PLANS ARE forging ahead for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Street Party in Langton Herring! There will be lots to do and see, one of which will be a competition to paint the Queen's portrait (A3 size, paper available) – children/adults and the finished articles will be displayed in the Hall.
