TUESDAY,24th April will be the next Village Lunch & it is the turn of the Gentlemen to cook and serve – they have been adventurous with the menu – I reckon we’re in for a real treat!
IN THE evening of Tuesday, 24th April there is a talk on “Soft Fruits” at Chesil Bank Garden Club in the Portesham Village Hall at 7.30 pm, given by Ian Davidson – I’ve seen Ian’s garden & tasted his produce and he really knows how to grow them!
RAG-BAG COLLECTION is on w/e of April 28/29 & I will send it off at the beginning of that week – so start sorting! all fabrics (apart from quilts/pillows) curtains, old clothes, hats, handbags, boots & shoes (tied/sellotaped or elastic banded in pairs), coats etc. Just pop it in a bag (I have a supply!) and drop it in my porch –anytime, or in the designated place in the Church on 28/29th - The cash we get is divided between the Church and the Village Hall, if you haven’t supported it before please start; like Easyfundraising it is a pain- free way of making money!
WHILE dropping your bags off, come to the Village Hall at 11.00 am on Saturday, 28th April, as it is the Annual Parochial Church Meeting where you hear what has been happening & is going to happen in YOUR Church – you can also vote on your Churchwardens for the coming year!
It is a very short meeting normally and will be followed by coffee and cake – DO join us.
THIS IS A busy weekend as on Sunday, 29th there is a Joint Benefice service being held in Abbotsbury – when there is a 5th Sunday in the month, the 3 parishes join together and hold one service at 10.30 am, and this time Abbotsbury are the lucky ones – it would be lovely to see you there!
