THERE will be an Evening of Musical Entertainments inspired by the Tudors, at St Mary’s Church in Frampton at 7.30pm on Saturday, April 21.

Tickets will be available on the evening at £5 each, including light refreshments.

THE LADIES Thursday Group (Stratton and Bradford Peverell) invites you to its Annual Coffee Morning in Bradford Peverell on Saturday, April 21.

The event runs from 10.30am until midday and will be in aid of the West Dorset Women’s Refuge in Dorchester.

There will be a raffle, cakes and bric-a-brac. All contributions to stalls will be most welcome.

ANNUAL Parochial Church Council Meetings will be held on Wednesday, April 18 (St Mary’s, Frampton) and Monday April 23 (St Mary’s, Stratton).

Both meetings are held at 7.30pm and the first part of each meeting is open to anyone on the civil electoral register for that parish, as well as those on the church electoral roll. Churchwardens for the coming year will be elected at this meeting.

THERE will be a jumble sale in Evershot Village Hall between 2 and 4pm on Saturday, April 21. There will be a new to you stall, as well as books, toys, bric-a-brac and produce. All proceeds will go towards the new kitchen fund. FROME Valley History Society has organised a visit to Sidbury Manor, Sidmouth in Devon at 2pm on Tuesday, April 24.

This is a Victorian Manor with original Morris wall coverings. There is also a walled garden and some lovely views.

There will be a conducted tour by Sir John Cave, followed by tea and biscuits.

THERE will be a coffee morning in Melbury Osmond Village Hall at 10am on Saturday April 28 in aid of Hug-a-Baby.

MEMBERS of the Ivy Club in Maiden Newton are reminded that the outing to Plymouth takes place on Tuesday, May 1.

THE NOW famous Dorset Knob Throwing & Frome Valley Food Festival takes place at Cattistock Football Field between 10am and 4pm on Sunday, May 6. Admission costs £2 (under 12’s free).

There will be stalls selling local foods with demonstrations and samplings, as well as Dorset Knob activities, including Knob Throwing, Knob and Spoon Race and Knob Eating.
