THE MELBURY Osmond St David’s Day Lenten Lunch will take place on Thursday March 1 between 12 noon and 2pm at the Dairy House (Forrests).

The price of lunch is £4 (half price for Davids!).

There will also be a raffle.

HAYLEY’s London Marathon Quiz Night takes place on Saturday March 3 in Frampton Village Hall.

‘Eyes down’ is at 7.30pm. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Tea/coffee and cakes will be on sale during the interval. There will be a raffle afterwards.

80% of the proceeds from this event will go to Weldmar Hospice Care Trust and 20% to AID International.

A VACANCY exists for the part time position of Parish Clerk to Frampton Parish Council.

The position is remunerated and will be of interest to somebody who wishes to understand and contribute to the processes involved with parish councils.

The successful candidate must have good communication and word processing skills and be required to take minutes, write letters, contact various organisations and act as an administrative contact for Frampton Parish Council.

MELBURY Osmond Garden and Show Society will be hosting a Spring Talk on Tuesday, March 6 with a return visit by Neil Lovesy from Pickets Lane Nursery.

The title of the talk is Perennial Colour.

FRAMPTON is already making plans to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee.

These include flower arranging in the church, a competition for the best decorated house, beating the parish bounds, a thanksgiving service in the church, a picnic on the Green, rafts on the river, Pimms and strawberries in the village hall, an evening performance by Frampton Footlights and a bonfire with fireworks.

Frampton Parish Council will hold its next meeting to discuss the celebrations in more detail on Tuesday, March 6. All are welcome to attend.

MAIDEN NEWTON Village Breakfast takes place in the village hall from 9 to 11am on Saturday, March 10.

A full English breakfast plus cereals, toast, juice and coffee costs just £4. A family ticket (2 adults and 2 children) can be bought for £10.

For those who just want cereals and toast, the cost is only £2.

There will also be a children’s play area, newspapers and a raffle.

THE NEXT Impact Ladies’ Lunch will be held on Thursday May 10 (by kind permission of the Hon. Charlotte Townshend).

Fiona Castle (wife of the late entertainer Roy Castle) will be giving a talk entitled ‘Behind the Scenes’.
