COMPTON Valence is well worth a visit at any time, but is particularly beautiful in early February, when the snowdrops are in flower.
Why not drive or walk through to see the stunning white drifts of snowdrops and call in to the village hall for lunch or tea from 10.30am to 3.30pm daily between February 6th and 17th (please ring Pippa James on 01305 889338 or Tessa Russell on 01308 482227 for details of times and to make a booking).
Pre-booked guests will take priority, as the hall is small.

CHILDREN of Fiji charity has a new quiz available at £1 each. The subject is ‘Where in the World’, with a variety of questions (both factual and cryptic) on towns, cities and countries of the world.

FROME Valley Music and Drama Society presents the pantomime Pinocchio at the Savill Hall, Cattistock from Wednesday February 15 until Saturday, February 18.
Performance times are 7.30pm each evening with matinees on Wednesday and Saturday at 2.30pm.
Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3 for children and concessions. They are available from Cherri on 01300 320888, Maiden Newton Stores (01300 321190) or the Newsagents Coffee Shop in Maiden Newton (01300 320260).
Although the pantomime is still almost a month away, tickets for this event always sell quickly and you are advised to buy yours as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
