I respond to the author of ‘They’re Saving Lives’ (who declined to be named) referring to my original letter about sirens in Weymouth.
This individual suggests I either ‘move back to where I came from’ (which would be Glasgow) or ‘try living in an inner city’, which would seem to happily cover both suggestions.
As this individual has obviously taken great umbrage at my letter, let me reassure him/her, that I also lived in central London and still, strangely enough, did not hear a fraction of the amount of sirens as I do in Weymouth.
To give this person some credit though, perhaps I should indeed have researched into the crime rates in Weymouth, whereby it seems certain I would find far higher crime rates than those of inner London and Glasgow.
I agree wholeheartedly with Janice Brookes’ constructive response, whereby she suggests that training in the appropriate use of sirens may be a solution.
