A COUPLE have welcomed their first baby into their family.
Parents Kirsty Strudwick, 18, and Nicholas O’Connor, 23, from Charlton Down, welcomed baby Ciaran Luke O’Connor into their family on September 20.
Ciaran weighed 7lbs 9.5oz when he was born by caesarean section. Kirsty is diabetic and when Ciaran was born he had low blood sugar levels and had to be rushed to intensive care. He then spent time in the special baby unit at Dorset County Hospital.
His parents wanted to thank the nurses and midwives for their help and support.
Kirsty said: “We would like to thank all the midwives and especially Chrissy Wood. She came into the theatre with me. She was absolutely brilliant.
“I’d also like to thank my mum Anne for coming into theatre with me too, even though she had a broken foot.”
Mum and baby are doing well and Kirsty said that she and Nicholas were really enjoying being parents.
