A MAN who escaped from a police car after failing a roadside breath test has had the terms of his community sentence changed.

Aaron Trevor Marshall, 26, was handed a 12-month community order in April after pleading guilty to charges of driving with excess alcohol and escaping custody.

He admitted fleeing from police on November 14 last year after being stopped on the A35 Puddletown bypass and being found to be over the drink drive limit.

Attached to his sentence were requirements to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work and a three-month curfew order.

Marshall, of Mosterton Cross, Beaminster, returned to Dorch-ester Crown Court for an application to revoke the community order.

Tim Bradbury, representing the Probation Service, told the court that the order had become ‘unworkable’ as Marshall had provided medical evidence of a ‘chronic back problem’ that prevented him from carrying out the unpaid work element.

He said: “The Probation Service is satisfied that it is genuine and he is unable to carry out the work.”

Judge James Meston removed the unpaid work requirement from Marshall’s sentence and imposed an additional three-month curfew.
