It’s time to dust off the holiday snaps or get clicking to enter the Island of Portland Heritage Trust's Annual Photographic Competition.
The Open Print competition has plenty of categories and sections for juniors and novices as well as more experienced photographers. There will be trophies, medals, certificates and prizes.
The judge will be Andrew Wilson ARPS, a respected and experienced photographic judge from Wareham.
Besides the usual Portland category there are also opportunities in Natural History, Life, Sea/Landscape, General, Creative, Architecture and Industry, where pictures do not have to be taken on Portland.
Any photos that are taken on Portland will be eligible to be chosen for the separate Peter Trim Award which is given to the image that best reflects the atmosphere and spirit of the island as chosen by a Portlander.
The exhibition of all entries will be shown at St George’s Centre, Reforne, Portland on Saturday and Sunday, October 22 and 23. All entries must be received by Monday, October 17, and entry forms with full details are available from St George’s Centre in Reforne, RT Cards in Easton Square, Wessex Photographic and Profolab on Granby Estate or can be downloaded from www.stgeorgesreforne.co.uk They can also be obtained by contacting Mrs Ann Trim on 01305 820977.
