A TOTAL of eight cars were damaged in a spate of what police called ‘mindless’ and ‘senseless’ vandalism on Portland.
Over five days, paintwork was damaged and wing mirrors were broken on vehicles along St George’s Road and Reforne in Tophill.
Officers said three cars were damaged last Friday night and another three on Monday morning before another was hit that night.
During house-to-house enquiries officers were told of the eighth car being damaged but it is unclear when that happened.
Sergeant Neil Wood, of Weymouth and Portland police, said: “Needless to say, this senseless vandalism is costly to repair and such expense and loss of time is upsetting for victims.
“This sort of criminal damage will not be tolerated and I am appealing to anyone with information about those responsible to contact me as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information can contact Sgt Wood on 101.
