A TOTAL of eight cars were damaged in a spate of what police called “mindless” and “senseless” vandalism on Portland.
Over five days paintwork was damaged and wing mirrors were broken on vehicles along St George's Road and nearby Reforne on Tophill.
Officers said three cars were damaged last Friday night (SEPT 23) and another three on Monday (SEPT 26) morning before one more was hit that night.
During house to house enquiries officers were then told of the eighth car being damaged but it is unclear when that happened over the last two weeks.
Sergeant Neil Wood, of Weymouth and Portland police, said: “Needless to say, this senseless vandalism is costly to repair and such expense and loss of time is very upsetting for the victims.
“This sort of mindless criminal damage will not be tolerated and I am appealing to witnesses - and anyone with information about those responsible - to contact me as soon as possible.”
Any witnesses or anyone with information can contact Sgt Wood on 101.
