A BOOK sale with a difference will be taking place next Saturday in memory of Portland’s Ann Cowling.
Several hundred alternative health books will be on sale between 10am and 2pm at the Light and Energy Centre, Unit 1, Jubilee Enterprise Centre, in aid of CANCERactive.
Island herbalist Andrew Cowling, pictured right, said he hoped to find ‘appreciative’ homes for his beloved wife’s books, while raising funds for the complementary cancer charity.
Mr Cow-ling, of Tophill, said: “Ann died two years ago due to cancer.
“Ann loved her books, they contain great wisdom and I’d like to see them go to people who also want to acquire that knowledge.
“I really want Ann’s books to go to people who will appreciate them.
“There’s a very good range on all kinds of spiritual matters.
“Ann also had several hundred books about Buddhism, which I gave to a Buddhist monastery in Devon.”
