On behalf of the South West Dorset Talking Newspaper for the blind and visually impaired I would like to thank the many people who supported our seafront stall in Weymouth on August 20.
Although it was wet in the morning our volunteers valiantly remained and by the afternoon the sun came out, which helped us to raise a total of £337.09. So thanks also go to the volunteers, the people who donated bric-a-brac and the kind people who both purchased items and donated money. The money is being used, along with other donations, which we have received, to implement the purchase and trialling of our new memory sticks, and so that all our listeners will be able to continue to receive all our local news, and a magazine, available on CD as well, free of charge, every week except Christmas. If you know anyone who would like to receive the talking newspaper, and who has a visual impairment please call us on 01305861282 or email swdtn@btinternet.com And if you would like to volunteer to help with editing or to help with recording and copying, please contact Ann Sawtell on 782602.
