TV star Martin Clunes will be switching on the lights to an enchanted garden during a fundraising evening at Abbotsbury Gardens.

The entire proceeds from the exclusive preview night will be donated to the cancer charity Weldmar Hospicecare Trust. During the evening visitors can take a stroll along candle lit pathways through enchanted glades and listen to local jazz band ‘The Friday Four’. The walk takes around 40 minutes, however there is a shorter walk which is suitable for wheelchair users.

Organisers are advising people to wear sensible footwear and bring a torch if they intend to walk around the gardens. As well as enjoying the gardens, the gift shop will be open for early Christmas shopping, the restaurant will be open serving a variety of meals and there will be a raffle.

Gates to the event on October 12 open at 6pm and Martin Clunes will be switching on the lights at around 6.30pm.

Advance tickets cost £10, tickets on the night are £12 with Abbotsbury season ticket holders getting in for £5. Parties of six or more will receive a 10 per cent discount.

All money from the ticket sales will be donated to Weldmar Hospicecare Trust.
