VILLAGERS are celebrating after their communities were praised in Dorset's Best Village Competition 2011.
A presentation ceremony was held at Frampton village hall on Thursday night for the competition, sponsored by Magna Housing Association and others including the Dorset Echo.
The awards include the Best Kept Village category which has been organised by Dorset Community Action since 1987.
It was North Dorset's night as Pimperne won best large village while Tarrant Monkton received the award for best small village.
Alton Pancras in the Piddle Valley was named best hamlet.
See Saturday's Echo for the full story and the complete list of winners.
