BUCKLAND NEWTON PANTOMIME season is nearing!

LYDDEN Vale Gardening Club: The next outing takes place on Wednesday, September 28.

Guest speaker will be Bob Hendley, of Bob’s Dahlias in Child Okeford.

Dahlias are great splashes of colour in the garden, taking us from summer to autumn and Bob, being a multiple gold medal winner, will have plenty of interesting facts for you!

GAGGLE of Geese news: There are quite a few events coming up, all organised by Buckland Newton’s enterprising and hard working pub landlords!

A Michelmas Goose Dinner is lined up for Thursday, September 29 and Salsa Dancing lessons will also start up again soon.

Well, the first one of this kind was a huge success, completely sold out so another one will be held in October.

Please support all these events, if you have never been to the Gaggle of Geese, this friendly pub really listens to its customers and is well worth a visit!

A REMINDER that Harvest Supper will take place on Saturday, October 1 at 7pm.

The usual auction of harvest produce will be held and the church will be beautifully decorated as usual!

All flower arrangers will get together on Saturday, October 8 from 9:30am onwards, any new volunteers are very welcome.

CERNE ABBAS A REMINDER that a six week literature course organised by Cerne Abbas Literature Group will commence on Tuesday, October 18 at 2pm in the Village Hall.

Books to be discussed will be from a selection of winners of the Booker Prize over the last 25 years.

Your tutor is Liz Merry MA, the total cost for the course is £ 35.

PILATES and fitness: Did you know that such classes take place every Thursday in the Village Hall?

Ladies and gents meet at 9:30am for a fitness class, followed by an hour of Pilates at 10:45am.

If you are interested in joining either session just turn up for a free trial.

The fitness class consists of a mixture of salsa, resistance work and pilates.
