A COUPLE have welcomed their first son into their lives.

Claire and Andy Beaumont, from Weymouth, brought home baby Archie William, who was born on September 1 at Dorset County Hospital.

When he was born he weighed 8lbs and 6oz. He is a baby brother for the couple’s two-year-old daughter Ruby May.

Mum Claire, 40, is an assessor for NVQ’s and father Andy, 31, runs AJB Construction Solutions and is a glazier by trade.

Claire said that Ruby and Archie were getting on really well.

She said: “Ruby absolutely adores him. She has been helping with nappies and looking after him. I forgot how tiny they are when they are first born, because Ruby is so big now and Archie is so tiny.”

Archie has been eating and sleeping well and even has to be woken up during the night for his feeds.

The couple wanted to give a special thank you to the midwives at the hospital.

Claire said: “I had a student nurse all the way through my pregnancy called Natalie Northover, she was great.

“Her supervisor was midwife Julie Sparks who was my midwife with Ruby and she became her godmother.”

The family are looking forward to moving to their new house next week which will have a garden for the children to play in.
