A COLOURFUL array of headgear was on display for the second Bridport Hat Festival.

Thousands of people enjoyed three days of events to celebrate the humble hat and the history of millinery.

It is the idea of Bridport hat shop owner Roger Snook and if the size of the crowds at the weekend was anything to go by, it seems to have a secure future.

Live music, stalls, displays, workshops and competitions kept the crowds entertained.

Mr Snook said the festival seems to have struck a chord with people and he was delighted to see people from all over the world in attendance.

The Bull Hotel played host to a number of events including a talk on the history of hats by Mr Snook.
