RAIL staff on the Weymouth-Waterloo line are being issued with BlackBerry smartphones to help passengers on their way.
South West Trains is issuing the devices to 850 train guards and platform staff to ensure they have access to better information about services and possible disruption on the network.
The rail company also has plans to launch a mobile version of its website, which will be easily accessible for passengers.
SWT managing director Andy Pitt said: “As one of the busiest commuter rail networks in Europe, we know how important it is to provide timely, accurate and good quality information.”
