My wife feeds the garden birds, but of late, to add to her ever growing list of “guess what I’ve seen” comments, she now claims (and I’ve seen for myself), up to 12 collared doves arrive and feed throughout the day.
One can only presume this could go either way, in that more will arrive or they drift off.
My question is: “Is this unusual?” and should we be considering introducing a dovecote?
