DORSET County Council has moved to assure parents it is taking action to sort out the chaos surrounding school transport services.
In a statement just released, the council says it is working with contractor Damory Coaches to identify problems to ensure children get to school safely.
Fed-up pupils have been telling the Echo how every day is a battle to get to lessons because of late buses or vehicles not showing up at all.
The county council changed its contractor to Blandford-based Damory over the summer as part of a programme of savings.
Following complaints the council now says it has made arrangements using its own fleet and other contractors to cover five services for one week until the problems are sorted out.
Full story and reaction in Friday's Echo.
