A MAN seriously injured after plunging 50ft from a block of flats is in a stable condition in hospital, police said.
Police and paramedics were alerted to Carlton Road North in Weymouth on Tuesday afternoon.
The man, who is believed to live in the top flat of the building, was treated at the scene before being flown by the air ambulance to Dorset County Hospital, Dorchester.
Residents told of their shock after hearing a loud noise and ambulances arriving to deal with the injured man.
The area was cordoned off for a few hours.
A Dorset Police spokesman said the man continued to be treated in hospital and described his condition as stable.
The spokesman said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident and officers are confident there was no third party involvement.
