WEYMOUTH is a beautiful place despite its traffic and Parking problems.
At least when we deal with parking offences we deal with our own local authority and its employees who are human beings and not disembodied mechanical devices.
I made the mistake of parking in the car park at the rear of Brewers Quay, which it turns out is not a local authority car park.
Be careful for even if the ticket machine fails to work the aliens that control it claim to be able to charge you up to £120, even if you leave a note and the car parking fee.
I do not know whether the firm in Chorley, called Parking Eye, has any legal right to demand money with menaces but no doubt I will find out.
The letter I got in reply to mine appealing against the charge gave me no information but repeated the threats and ended with the words ‘kind regards’ Parking Eye Team.
It was unsigned.
