THE Stroke Association is holding the biggest survey of its kind and is looking for stroke survivors in Dorset to take part.
The Daily Life Survey launches on Wednesday and will run until December 1.
More than 12,000 people in the South West have had a stroke – 33 a day.
There are currently over 100,000 people living with disability caused by a stroke in the region.
Sara Payne, pictured, who campaigns to eradicate the abuse of children through the ‘Sarah’s Law’ campaign, suffered a stroke in 2009.
She is now supporting The Stroke Association by helping to raise awareness of the needs of survivors.
She said: “By filling in the survey, stroke survivors will be helping to shape better care for stroke survivors of the future.”
The survey will help the association understand how changes to public services like health, social care, benefits and housing are having an impact on the lives of people affected by stroke and their families.
