THE SONGS of Praise was a great success with a good sized congregation singing their favourite hymns in honour of our Patron, St Peter (whose symbol is a fish) – we then retired to the hall where we had coffee and two wonderfully decorated fish shaped cakes, courtesy of Merle, and an enjoyable social time.
This coming weekend we celebrate Sea Sunday and hope there will be another good congregation.
THE FETE is fast approaching - SATURDAY 30TH JULY will be here before we know it – remember to consult your newsletter to see what is needed in the way of goods & help, let the appropriate person know what you can supply.
I WILL be organising another RagBag Collection after the Fete, so don’t throw away those old articles made of fabric - it is an excellent way to recycle & make money for the village at the same time!
THE CHESIL Bank Garden Club has had a busy time: Saturday was the Village Cafe and with plants & produce for sale, coffee and bacon butties to eat, it was an enjoyable way to raise a very healthy sum for the funds.
On Tuesday, we had our outing to Wisley Gardens, enjoying the splendid long borders, trial gardens, greenhouses etc and gleaning ideas to try & transfer to our small patches! The weather was beautiful; sunny and hot & the first drops of rain fell as the coach pulled out onto the motorway, perfect timing!
