During the weekend of June 4-5 the village of Broadmayne saw the biennial event of a Scattering of Scarecrows.
This year the festivities had the added bonuses of a village fete as well as a successful photographic competition.
The organisers of the events were blessed with good weather which saw many people, locals and visitorscome along to enjoy the fete and to view the scarecrows scattered throughout the parish.
The Parish Council recognises the hard work and dedication the volunteers who organised the weekend’sactivities put in, making it a great sucess and wish to thank them for their efforts.
We would also like to thank all those from near and far who attended the fete and took the scarecrow trail, without whom the the event would not have been the sucess it was.
Money was raised by local youth groups for their funds and for the Broadmayne school’s swimming pool fund.
It has been some years since a summer fete has been held in the village and we are pleased that it was such a sucess.
