ORGANISERS are planning the third Wykefest Food and Beer Festival in Weymouth.
The annual charity fundraiser is a celebration of the best of Dorset food and drink with a bit of live music thrown in.
It is jointly organised between the Dorset children’s hospice Julia’s House and Value House and is held on a big field next to the store off Manderville Road, Wyke Regis.
Visitors to his year’s event on Friday, July 22, and Saturday, July 23, will get the chance to appreciate more than 40 real ales and ciders including Silent Slasher, Eye-Opener and Tally Ho!
Once again there will be a free shuttle bus running on a continuous loop from Weymouth town centre with pick-up points at Weymouth railway station, the fire station, Debenhams and Buxton Road to Foords Corner.
The shuttle bus will run for the duration of the festival from 6pm-11pm on the Friday and then all day on the Saturday from 10.30am-11pm.
As well as an array of locally-brewed favourites – there is a competition to win your weight in beer – there will be a whole host of other attractions including specialist food producers, cookery demos, live music and crafts.
Tickets cost £2.50 and the event is free for under-18s.
